Good price for a surfboard?

I am thinking of buying a used funboard for $100. Is that a good price? It has a few dings in it but is on it but is in good shape. Please tell me if I should try to get one for less.

My friend is selling it. It is in good condition he wanted to sell it for $200 but i got him to go down to 100.

Anything that you can buy for $100.00 is junk! Now, if that’s all you have, go for it, but believe me, a decent used board will cost more than that. Unless, of course, the guy selling it is broke and really needs $$$ badly.

A decent used board can be had for around $250.00 to $450.00, depending on the type etc.. I am sure that the board you are looking at for $100.00 is a sleazy popout, that may already be de-laminating, or taking in water.

Go to a good local surf shop, and talk to the folks there. They can probably find you something decent, but I don’t know about that $100. price tag. I have been surfing since ‘66, and I have owned dozens of boards (custom made, new off the shelf and used) and I haven’t bought one $100.00 since ‘68 or so. Does that give you an idea?
